Company Headings
Select Master - Company Heading
You can have up to 99 different companies (numbers 01 to 99) in one directory, which can consolidate back to the parent company (number 00).
The company numbers are used to keep each company separate within a directory. Each of your companies must be entered in the Company Headings file. This file contains the company number, name, address, city, state, etc… In the Company Headings file, most people set up their first company as number 00 and also as 01.
Company number 00 (zero, zero) is used for the parent company (Consolidated Company).
Company 00 does not have a chart of accounts itself, and no entries are made to it directly. Entries are only made to company numbers 01 through 99. To obtain a Consolidated P & L on all companies in the same directory, use company number 00 (zero, zero) for the company number filter of the report.
Note: In order to get all records of a file, the Filter conditions must be blank, otherwise it will only list records that were contained in the previous filter.
